Dora Gordon Whisenant

James Taylor (1635-1698) lived in Carlisle, Cumberland, England. He emigrated and settled in Virginia. He married Frances Walker in about 1666 in Virginia. They had three children. He married Mary Bishop Gregory in 1682. They had seven children. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Virginia, Kentucky, Missouri, Tennessee, Ohio, Texas and Iowa.

Oswald Potts was born in England. He married Elizabeth in about 1760. They had three known children - William, Mary Ann and Abner. He died before 1790 in Union, South Carolina. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in South Carolina and Tennessee.

William Craige was born in about 1705 in Scotland or Ireland. He married Margaret Logan. They had five children. They emigrated and settled in North Carolina. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in North Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee, Missouri, Arkansas and Texas.

The descendants of Thomas "Pioneer" Thompson. Thomas "Pioneer" Thompson (John) was born 16 May 1731 in Northumberland, England, and died Abt. 1795 in Orange, NC. He married Ellender Hulda "Nellie" Hagan/Agan 04 Dec 1752 in Baltimore, MD, daughter of James Hagan/Agan and Rachel Wright. She was born 22 Feb 1735 in Baltimore, MD, and died 06 May 1800 in Orange, NC.

Alexander Winford was born in about 1730. He married Margaret and they had ten children. He died in 1790 in Kent, Delaware. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Delaware, Tennessee and Arkansas.
