Description
Chiefly ancestors of the author's parents, Sidney and Juanita Smith Brist, with many of those ancestors' descendants. Sidney Earl Brist was born in 1917 at Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin, the son of Claud Brist (1892-1971) and Ida Luella Moore Brist (1898-1970). He married Juanita Mae Smith (1926-1995) in 1944 at Minneapolis, Minnesota. She was born at Sciotoville, Scioto County, Ohio, the daughter of Millard Fillmore Smith (1905-1987) and Larue Pinson Smith (b. 1910). They had five children, 1946-1958, born at Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Phoenix and Mesa, Arizona. Juanita Smith Brist died at Phoenix and is buried in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Avondale, Arizona. Sidney Earl Brist married 2) Barbara, a native of Brazil, in 1972 at Yuma, Arizona. He adopted her two children from her first marriage, born 1970-1972 at Phoenix. Descendants live in Arizona and elsewhere.
