Description
Chiefly, a record of descendants of Martin Griffin, Sr. who was born ca. 1740 in New York. He married Rachel Soper on September 18, 1765 in Huntington, Suffolk County, New York. Rachel was the daughter of Timothy Soper (1712-1752) and Leah Van Hoesen. They had ten children. During his life, Martin served as a member of the 2nd Company of 3rd Regiment of Ulster County, New York Militia during the Revolutionary War. It is not known when Martin and Rachel died or where they are buried. Martin is estimated to have died ca. 1790. Descendants lived in New York, Vermont, Ohio, Michigan and elsewhere.
