Notes

General Note
"In the early 1740s the Lutheran pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church at Lancaster, Laurenz Nyberg, favored the Moravians. When some of the Lutherans took active measures to force him out, his supporters built a new church (St. Andrew's) up the street. Believing he retained responsibility for all Lutherans at Lancaster, Nyberg began a new register that year, entering in it the records for both congregations. When the Moravians organized as a separate denomination in 1748/9, they continued to worship in their new church but retained the old Lutheran register." -- P. xix.
