Description
Chiefly ancestral families of the author's parents, Alois Falter and Prunella Scharf. Alois Sylvester Falter (1903-1973) was born on the family farm in St. Stephen, Seneca County, Ohio, the son of Cornelius Henry Falter (1876-1963) and Susanna P. Gengler Falter (1877-1911). He moved to Akron, Ohio, to work in the late 1920s. He married Prunella "Nell" Scharf at Bellevue, Ohio, in 1932. Prunella Berjetta Scharf was born in 1911 at Montrose, Colorado, the daughter of August Scharf (1878-1947) and Cora Helen Hummer Scharf (1886-1965). Al and Nell had two children, 1932-1936, born at Akron. Al died at Rittman, Ohio.
Description
Ancestors include: Wendell Falter (ca. 1711-1781) of Nack, Hessen-Darmstadt, Germany; and his grandson, Philip Johann Falter (ca. 1782-1849) of Nack, Hessen-Darmstadt and St. Stephen, Seneca County, Ohio -- Aimus Christian Scharff (1680-1762) of Neufscheuren, Alsace, France and his descendant Jacob Scharf (1805-1853) of Niedergailbach, Bavaria, Germany and New Washington, Crawford County, Ohio.
