Richard Dillon was born on 7 October 1745 in Norfolk County, Virginia and died on 6 October 1833 in Pike County, Mississippi. He was the son of James Theophilus and Mary Dillon. He married Ann Lawrence ca. 1776 in Bertie County, North Carolina. Ann, daughter of Humphrey Lawrence and Ann Ashley, was born ca. 1762 in Bertie County, North Carolina. Richard served in the Revolutionary war, entering the service in 1781. Descendants have primarily resided in North Carolina, Mississippi and Louisiana.
