Rufus Jackson Hooper was born in about 1856 in Caswell County, North Carolina. His parents were William Hooper (1834-1856) and Mary Jones. He married Mary Horton (1856-1945), daughter of John Wilson Horton and Ann Strong. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in North Carolina. Includes Barden, Gunn, Mims and related families.
