Description
Allen Mead (1793-1849), a son of Michael and Matty Mead, moved from New York to Huron County, Ohio, and served in the army during the War of 1812. He married Sally Scarlett after the war. William Scurlock moved from North Carolina to Jackson County, Ohio, and married Sarah Humphrey after having served as a soldier in the War of 1812. John Mead (1764-1845) was a soldier in the Revolutionary War, and married Elizabeth Bentley about 1785/1786. After several moves in New York, they moved to Dearborn County, Indiana between 1820 and 1830. Descendants and relatives lived in New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas and elsewhere.
