Description
Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the MacLeod Clan (and variant spellings) that originated in Scotland, in the islands of Raasay and Skye. One ancestor was Hugh MacLeod of Raasay. Of Hugh's descendants, only Donald stayed in Raasay, and later established branches of the MacLeod family in Skye. Later, 300 MacLeod descendants immigrated to America, settling mainly in the Carolinas and New York. Other of Hugh McLeod's descendants were: John of Aukland who left Raasay and established his family in Prince Edward Island (Canada); Little John who settled New South Wales (Australia); and Murdoch, Murdoch (II), and Angus who established clan in New Zealand. This newsletter regularly publishes articles taken from circulars and newsletters issued by each of these regional branches of the Clan MacLeod throughout Australia, Canada, England (the United Kingdom), France, Germany, New Zealand, the United States of America, and elsewhere.
