Description
John Beard and his two sons emigrated from Teignmouth, Devonshire, England, and settled on Nantucket Island, Massachusetts, ca. 1710. His grandson, Richard Beard, Jr. was born in 1718 at Nantucket. He married Eunice Macy, daughter of Jabez and Sarah Starbuck Macy, in 1742. They had six children, 1743-1763. The family migrated to New Garden, North Carolina, in 1772. He died in 1803. Descendants listed lived in North Carolina, Kansas, Illinois, Indiana, and elsewhere.
