Description
Thomas Higgs was born 9 October 1809 in Spratton, Northampton, England. His parents were Josiah Higgs and Mary Bray. He immigrated to America in 1831. He married Eliza Caroline Doty 31 August 1834 in Plainfield, New Jersey. They had two sons, Joseph and Charles. His wife died in 1839. He married Harriet Richmond Holcomb (1816-1892) in 1842. They had seven children. He died in 1889 In Trivoli, Illinois. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Illinois and Iowa.
