Description
Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Pearson (and variant spellings) families who are mainly descendants and relatives of Shadrack, Meshack, and Abednego Pierson. They were the triplet sons of Charles (1726-1799) and Sally Pierson. Shadrack, Meshack, and Abednego were born in Culpeper County, Virginia in 1754. For their service in the Revolutionary War, Shadrack and Meshack received land in Bourbon County, Kentucky and in Scott County, Illinois. Their brother, Abednego was killed before reaching adulthood. In 1781, Shadrack married Rachel Clinch, and had ten children: Frances, Bartholomew, Nancy, James W., Sally, William C., Shadrack Jr., George W., Cassandra, and Henry Clinch Pierson. After Rachel's death in 1826, Shadrack married Mary George. In 1787, Meshack married Mary Jennings and had four children Elizabeth, William, Sally, and John Pierson. After his first wife died, Shadrack married Mildren Ellis. The spelling of the given name varies, i.e. Mashak, Meshac, Mesheck, Meshecke, Meshick, and Meshoch. Shadrack lived in Culpeper County, Virginia, in Scott and Bourbon Counties of Kentucky, in Scott County, Indiana, and in Palestine, Illinois. Shadrack died in 1838. He was buried in Craig Cemetery near Scottsburg, Indiana. Meshack died in 1847. Some have Cherokee Indian bloodlines. Some were orphaned and adopted. In the 1700s, some family lived in South Carolina and Virginia. During the 1800s, some moved to California, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Oregon. Later descendants also lived in Colorado, Michigan, North Carolina, Texas, Utah, and elsewhere. Information includes births, marriages, deaths, and other vital information taken from birth, cemetery, church, court, death, land, marriage, medical, pension, school, tax and other similar records covering dates from the late 1600s to the present.
