Description
Descendants of Adam de Kari born about 1170 and Ann, daughter of Sir William Trevett who lived in Somersetshire, England. Descendants adopted the name "Cary".
Description
The common ancestor of the various Cary branches is Adam de Kari who resided at Castle Kari in 1198. The castle and family seat was located in Castle Cary, Somersetshire. The major branches of the Cary family are the Baron Hunsdon line, the Viscount Falkland line, the Carys of Clovelly, the Carys of Torre Abbey, and the Carys of Somersetshire.
