Primarily the history of the pen manufacturer Mabie, Todd & Co. of New York City, New York with some information regarding its founders and their families. Principal founder John Mabie was born 19 June 1819 in New York City, New York and died 9 January 1892. His parents were William Helimus Mabie and Maria Verbrycke. He married Eliza Jane Ossa Smith (1821-1870), daughter of Samuel Smith and Eliza Ossa, 22 April 1841. They had five children. The company, originally named Mabie, Todd & Bard was formed 1 February 1873. The company was also known by other names during its history. It became the Mabie, Todd & Co. 7 January 1907 in New York, New York. The company was dissolved 7 July 1941. Co-founders included Edward Todd (1826-1900) and Jonathan Sprague Bard (1824-1917).
