Numbering Peculiarities
Pagination begins in 1901 and is continuous through all volumes/issues up through vol. 34 (1932-33). During the years 1936-1954, the each annual issue of "Wing family annals" began with p. 1. In 1955, the periodical resumed its original title "The Owl" and its original pagination to simplify indexing--which requires renumbering back issues published from 1936-1954, beginning with p. 3182. Description
Journal for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Wing (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from England, Holland, and Wales. Some focus is on (but not limited to) descendants of Revered John Wing and his wife, Deborah Bachiler who married before 1613. Their children were: Deborah, John, Daniel, Stephen, and Matthew. Rev. John was born in 1584 at Banbury, England. He served as a minister in Germany, England, and Holland. He died in 1630 in London, England. Deborah, his wife was the daughter of Rev. Stephen Bachiler. In 1631, Deborah and her children, and her father, Rev. Stephen Bachiler immigrated to Boston, Massachusetts. They stayed four years at Saugus, then moved to Sandwich, Massachusetts. In the early 1600s, some Wing families settled in Sandwich, a town in the Plymouth Colonies of Massachusetts. Some moved to Canada, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Vermont before the Revolutionary War. Descendants and relatives also lived in British Columbia and Ontario (Canada), and in Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Washington, Washington D.C., Wisconsin, and elsewhere.
