Description
John Crary was from Northumberland Co., England. He, and possibly a brother, emigrated to the Colonies shortly after 1660. He was living in Boston between 1671 and 1678. He married Esther and they were the parents of two known children: Margaret and Roger. Another child Benjamin, born to a possible second wife (Mary) is also recorded. Roger Crary (b.1673) married (1) Mary, by whom he had Benjamin (b.1706) at Mendon, Mass. and (2) Hannah, by whom he had Roger (b.1709), Hannah (b. 1715) and John (b.1718). Benjamin married (1) Deborah Balcom, daughter of Joseph and Phoebe Balcom of New Sherborn, now Douglas, Mass. and (2) Jerusha Thayer. He was the father of ten children. Roger married (1) Rebecca Everett and (2) Mary Webster. He was the father of ten children. Family members lived in Massachusetts, New York, Connecticut and elsewhere. Several generations of descendants are given.
