Absolom Littell, a descendant of John Littell (ca. 1646-1713) of Elizabeth, New Jersey, was born in Sussex County, Delaware, in 1751, the son of Absolom and Esther Pettyjohn Littell. He married Mary Norris, daughter of William and Ann Norris in 1783 in Fayette County, Pennsylvania. They had seven children, 1784-1797, all born in Fayette County. He died in Clark County, Indiana, in 1824. Descendants lived in Indiana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Texas, Washington, California, Illinois, North Carolina, Florida and elsewhere.
