Jared Gross immigrated in 1760 from England to North Carolina, and married Sarah Sheppard in 1767. They moved to Halifax County, Virginia. Descendants (most spelling the surname Groce, or Gross) and relatives lived in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Louisiana, Texas and elsewhere.
