Notes
General Note
Microfilm of original ms. records (12 p.) in possession of Mrs. John E. Cook, Athens, Georgia, 1960.
General Note
A note states that the Bible was given by Aunt Lucy Cook in 1928 to John Emery Cook and Maude Burson Cook. This Bible belonged to her grandfather, Zadock Cook. One page in the Bible states: "David Pulley, his book ...".
Description
Zadock Cook (b. 1769) and his wife, Betsa Cook (b. 1773), had seven children, 1794-1810. Their daughter, Rebekah Cook (b. 1794), and Edward Conner (b. 1793) were married in 1813?. They had seven children, 1814-1825.
Description
David Pulley (b. 1752), the son of James and Mary Pulley, and his wife, Mary Whitehead (b. 1748?), daughter of Joseph and Faith Whitehead, had a least three children, 1777-1783.
Description
Mathew and Mary Joyner had at least four children, 1763-1770.
Description
The relationship between the Cook, Pulley, and Joyner families is not apparent. However one of the Joyner sons had the middle name of Whitehead, which may indicate a relationship between the Pulley and Joyner families. Bible also includes a torn page, which seems to contain a birth for the son of Robert Knight, born in 1762.
