Description
Periodical for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Wyckoff families in America, especially the descendants of Pieter (Peter) Claesen Wyckoff. Pieter (1625-1686) emigrated in 1637 from Amsterdam, Holland to Fort Orange, New York. He moved in 1649 to New Amsterdam, and later settled in what became Brooklyn, New York. Pieter acquired land after finishing his term as an indentured servant. A home was built ca. 1652 by Governor Van Twiller, which became the first and only permanent home of Pieter Claesen (Peter) and Grietje Wyckoff in 1655. Wyckoff families lived in that home and farmed the land until 1901. Later descendants lived in California, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and elsewhere.
