Description
Eleazer Allyn (1755-1830), a Revolutionary War soldier, was born at Colchester, Connecticut, the son of Ichabod and Elizabeth Rogerts Allyn. He married Elizabeth Stark (1757-1834) in 1777 at Colchester. They had eight children, 1778-1797. The family lived in Connecticut, Vermona, Massachusetts, New York, and Ohio; then in 1816 migrated to Turkey Hill Township, St. Clair, Illinois. Eleazer and Elizabeth Allyn are buried at Shiloh, Illinois. Children and grandchildren listed lived in Illinois, Oregon, Washington and elsewhere. Some children spelled their surname Allen.
Description
Henry Allyn (1794-1880) was born at Goshen, Orange County, New York, the son of Eleazar and Eleazer and Elizabeth Allyn. He married Sarah Quick of Silver Creek, St. Clair County, Illinois, in 1825. They had six children, 1826-1836. Sarah died in St. Clair County in 1851. Henry with a daughter and her family followed some of his other children to Oregon in 1853. His last years were spent living with his children in Oregon and Washington. He died at Myrtle Creek, Douglas County, Oregon. Most children and grandchildren lived in Oregon, Washington or California.
