Description
Bulletin for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Armstrong (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from Denmark, England, Ireland, and Scotland. Some allied families came from Wales. One early ancestor was Siward, the Strongarm, Earl of Northumberland who was born in 1044. Some Armstrongs immigrated to Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island in the 1600s. In the 1700s, some settled in Delaware, Maine, Michigan Territory, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Virginia. During the 1800s, some moved to Nova Scotia and Ontario (Canada), Australia, and to Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, Ohio, Oklahoma Territory, South Carolina, Texas, and Utah. Some focus is on (but not limited to) descendants of William Bird Armstrong, who left Yorkshire, England and settled in Utah in 1876. William's descendants and those of other Armstrong progenitors also lived in England, Mexico, New Zealand, South Africa, and in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nebraska, New Mexico, Utah, Washington, and elsewhere. Information was transcribed or extracted from census, cemetery records, military records, orphanage records, reunion reports, shared pedigrees, and other sources.
