Description
Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Hollingshead families who descend from John and Grace Hollinshead, Quakers from Cheshire, England, who immigrated in 1678 to Burlington County, New Jersey. Some of their descendants fled from New Jersey to Ontario, Nova Scotia and elsewhere in Canada ca. 1776. Focus is on a later descendant, Nelson Stoyell Hollingshead (1824-1884) a son of Thomas and Aurelia (Mathews) Hollingshead. Nelson's family became some of the early converts to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, moved to New York, and to Illinois, and then to Salt Lake City. Nelson settled in Parowan, Utah, and married (first) Mehetable Thornton, and Elizabeth Evans (second). Descendants and related families live(d) in Utah, Nevada, California, and elsewhere in the United States and Canada.
