Johann Jacob Bierly (1700-1771) married Mary Elizabeth (?) in 1725, and immigrated in 1732 from Germany to Pennsylvania, moving in 1755 to Rowan County, North Carolina. He spelled his name as John Jacob Byerly in the United States. His parents were John George and Anna Maria Beyerle, who remained in Germany, although most of their children immigrated. Descendants and relatives lived in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Indiana, Arizona, Alaska and elsewhere.
