Description
Newsletter allowing for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the McKinney (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from Ireland and Scotland. Some allied families were belonged to the Reformed Dutch Church of New Amsterdam, New York. In the 1600's, some McKinneys immigrated to Maryland, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania. In the 1700's, some settled in Georgia, Kentucky, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. During the 1800's, some moved to Arkansas, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Mississippi, Missouri, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and West Virginia. Later descendants also lived in Saskatchewan (Canada), and in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington, Washington D.C., Wisconsin, and elsewhere.

Issuing Body
The McKinney Family Association and Library was founded September 1981. Its constitution and by-laws were adopted October 1981. It became a non-profit organization in the State of Oklahoma in May 1983. Headquarters are in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The Association is no longer publishing.
