Description
Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Cope families who came mainly from Denmark, England, Scotland, Sweden, and Wales. Some immigrated to Georgia, Massachusetts, North Carolina, and Virginia in the 1600's-1700's. Some focus is on (but not limited to) the ancestors and descendants of Thomas Henry Cope (1853-1930) and his wife Amelia Jane Lloyd. Amelia was the daughter of Robert Lewis Lloyd and Eliza Adeling Goheen Lloyd. During the 1800's, some Copes moved to Australia, and to Alabama, California, Kansas, Iowa, Nevada, the Cherokee Indian Nation Territory (Oklahoma), Pennsylvania Tennessee, Texas, and Utah. Later descendants also lived in Canada, Japan, and in Alaska, Colorado, Idaho, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming, and elsewhere.

Issuing Body
The Thomas Henry Cope Family Organization was founded in 1945, and incorporated in the State of Utah in 1982. From August 1977, two family organizations, the Thomas Henry Cope Family and the Robert Lewis Lloyd Family jointly shared research and publication of the two periodicals, "The Cope courier" and the "Lloyd legend." The publications had identical text beginning in March 1982, except for their cover pages, editorials, presidents' messages, and the family news.
