Pennington Pedigrees (parent publication) and its supplement, entitled Pennington Cousins' Courier, were published by the same Pennington Research Association, under the same subscription, but with separate editing and publishing staffs. The magazines were founded by Bee Holmes.

Issues published in hard copy 1968-2006. Publication in CD-ROM format began with vol. 39 no. 1 (2007).

Published: Devil's Lake, North Dakota ; Huntsville, Arkansas; Riverside, California; Moreno, California; Annapolis, Maryland; and elsewhere.

Issues were received in hard copy through 2006. Issues published only on CD-ROM beginning with the spring 2007 issue.

Some back issues are available only on microfiche, which are restricted and available only at the Access Assistants' office.

Periodical for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Pennington (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from England, Ireland, Normandy, and Wales. In the 1600s, some immigrated to Connecticut, Maryland, New Jersey, and Virginia. In the 1700s, some settled in Georgia, Kentucky, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Tennessee. During the 1800s, some moved to New Brunswick (Canada), and to Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, Oregon, Rhode Island, and Texas. Later descendants also lived in Manitoba (Canada), Japan, the United Kingdom, and in California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Idaho, Louisiana, Minnesota, Nevada, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, West Virginia, and elsewhere. Information is included about adoptions and slaves' names. Some have African American bloodlines. Information is extracted from bible records, cemetery records, census records, family histories, journals, obituaries, probates, shared family group sheets and pedigree charts, wills, and other sources dated from ca. 1500 to the present.
