News related to Essex happenings: An extensive collection of books, prints, maps, etc relating to Essex, was donated by the family of Colonel Frank Landon (1753-!835) ; New borough of Chingford was formed with a population of 37,970 (in 1937); Excavations on the Sheepen Farm estate unearthed Roman coins; Eight local parishes received new clergy (New clergy names: Crozier, Morrice, Berey, Roe, Brook, Wallace, Hollingdale, Wake, and Pink); and, one obituary gives biographical information for Colonel Arthur John Hanslip Ward (1859-1938).
