Sarah Catherine Martin (1768-1826) was the daughter of Sir Henry Martin, Comptroller of His Majesty's Navy. As a result, Prince William Henry became friends with the family and fell hopelessly in love with Sarah. Sir Henry and Sarah knew that this relationship could not be, so she was sent to live with relatives in London. Prince William Henry, became King William IV. Sarah never married. .
