Description
William Deveny was born in Ireland ca. 1680, the son of Jenkins Deveny. William died in Monmouth County, New Jersey. His son, Aaron Deveny (ca. 1710-1777), married Margaret Stuart in 1736 at Wilmington, Delaware. He settled in York County, Pennsylvania by 1747. He later died in Huntington County, Pennsylvania. Descendants lived in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Alabama, Texas, and elsewhere. Includes information on several other Devinney families as well, particularly of Ohio and Pennsylvania.
