Description
Bulletin for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Jolley families who descend from Henry Bryant Jolley and his wife Britiana Mayo, who joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1842, and went to Nauvoo, Illinois. After 1844, they moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa, and remained there until they left in 1852, for Spanish Fork, Utah. In 1862, Henry's family was called to help settle the area known as "Dixie" in southern Utah. Later they moved to Harmony, Utah, and again in 1866, to Mount Carmel, Utah. Henry Bryant Jolley died in 1850. This 38th Annual Reunion bulletin focuses on some of Henry Bryant Jolley's descendants, including (but not limited to): William Wesley "Wes" Jolley who was born in Tennessee in 1835, and died in Idaho in 1911; George Armstong Hicks who was born in Ontario, Canada, in 1835, and died in Utah in 1926; Henry Bryant Hicks who was born in Utah in 1856, and died in 1923, and who married Emma Salina Youd; also Joseph Lofits Jolley who was born in Nauvoo in 1846) who first married Hannah Childs (died 1882), and then married Sina Laurintzen. Joseph Loftis Jolley's parents were Sarah Pipin and Reuben Manning Jolley of Pleasant Grove, Utah. Other descendants and relatives lived in Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, North Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, and Canada in the 1800's. Later families also lived in Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Washington D.C., and Wyoming.
