Description
Periodical for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Ellis families who came mainly from England, France, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. Some immigrated to Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Virginia in the 1600s. In the 1700s, some settled in Nova Scotia and Ontario (Canada), and in Connecticut, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Vermont, and West Virginia. During the 1800s, some moved to New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island (Canada), New Zealand, and to Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Washington D.C., and Wisconsin. Some were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, who moved to Utah with the Latter-day Saint pioneers. Later descendants also lived in Alberta, Quebec, and Saskatchewan (Canada), Australia, and in Alaska, Florida, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Washington, Wyoming, and elsewhere.

The Ellis Family Genealogical Society (also known as Ellis Genealogical Society) was founded March 1973, and was incorporated in May 1973 as the Ellis Family Organization. Its headquarters is in Granger (now part of West Valley City, Utah). For more information, see the Web site.
