Description
Henry Crane (ca.1635-1711) and Benjamin Crane (ca.1630-1691), brothers (according to the author), emigrated from England to Wethersfield, Connecticut during or before 1655 (possibly Benjamin had been in Massachusetts earlier). Their father was probably John Crane (fl.1637-1642) of the "Muddy Brook" section of Boston now known as Brookline. Henry married Concurrence Meigs about 1663 and made several moves, but maintained a residence at Guilford, Conn. while sometimes living elsewhere. Benjamin married Mary Backus in 1655 and remained in Wethersfield, Connecticut. Descendants and relatives lived in New England, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin and elsewhere. Vol. 1 includes Crane ancestry in England to 1066 A.D. Vol. 2 includes other Crane immigrants and their descendants and relatives in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina,.
