Description
Henry Cobb Stryker (1849-1922) was born in Manchester Township, Dearborn, County, Indiana, the son of Peter Labagh Stryker (1813-1896) and Aletta Kline Van Camp Stricker (1817-1898). His family migrated to Cedar County, Iowa, ca. 1854. He married Amanda Walker (1853-1919) in 1872 at Tipton, Iowa. She was born in Chautauquea County, New York, the daughter of Francis Walker (1819-1900) and Selina S. Yaw Walker (1833-1918). Her parents migrated to Cedar County, Iowa, in 1856. Henry and Amanda settled Butler County, Nebraska. They had six children, 1873-1889. Descendants lived in Nebraska, Missouri, California, and elsewhere.

Ancestors include: Jan Strycker (1614-ca. 1697) of Holland, New Amsterdam, and Long Island, New York -- Gerrit Jansen Van Campen (m. 1659) of Holland; Esopus [Kingston], New York; and Flatbush, Long Island -- Adrian Hegeman/Hageman (1624-1672) of Holland; New Amsterdam; and Flatbush, Long Island -- Thomas Walker (fl. 1650-1680) of London, England; Boston and Sudbury, Massachusetts -- David Yeaw/Yaw (d. 1764) of Marblehead, Massachusetts; and Scituate, Rhode Island.
