Description
"Samuel [Sturgeon ] I was born in Ireland about 1680 and with his large family migrated to America in 1730. He settled in Donegal Township, Lancaster County, not far from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He likely married around 1702-1705."--p. 2. "William Elder married Ann Scott, cousin (?) of General Winfield Scott of Mexican War fame. They were born in Dinwiddie County, Virginia and emigrated to Lexington, Kentucky, about 1800. William died in 1818 in Louisville."--p. 47. Descendants lived in Kentucky, Florida, Indiana, Tennessee, Michigan, Missouri, California, Texas, Nebraska and elsewhere.
