Numbering Peculiarities
Vol. 1 issues 1-2 were unnumbered, designated only by month and year. Volume and issue numbers began with vol. 2 issue 1. Issue numbers changed from 1st and 2nd issues each year to whole (consecutive) numbers beginning with [vol. 5] issue 9 (Feb 1971).
Numbering Peculiarities
Two issues were designated with the same issue number: vol. 10 no. 20 (Aug 1976) and vol. 11 no. 20 (Feb 1977).
Description
Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history about Scott families in the United States. Focus is on the family of Andrew Hunter Scott who was born to Joshua Scott and Nancy Keen on 21 August 1815 in Hulmeville, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. On 18 February 1838, he married Sarah Leeds Sleeper, the daughter of John Sleeper and Mary Rynear. Andrew joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1843 in Vincentown, New Jersey. His family moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1851. Andrew had two other wives, Martha Ann Norton and Sarah Ann Roe. He had 21 children by the three marriages. Andrew died in 1874 in Provo, Utah. Many of his descendants were also members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Some helped colonize Alberta, Canada and Chihuahua, Mexico. Others lived in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Utah, and elsewhere. Many of the Scott and their allied family lines are traced back to their countries of origin.
