Description
Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Townsend (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from England, Ireland, Normandy, and possibly from Holland. Some focus is on (but not limited to) descendants of John, Henry, and Richard Townsend who settled in Long Island, New York ca. 1640. Other Townsends settled Massachusetts, New Amsterdam (New York), and Rhode Island in the early 1600s. In the 1700-1800s, some settled Alabama, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, and Vermont. Later descendants also lived in Nova Scotia and Ontario (Canada), Australia, New Zealand, Portugal, the United Kingdom, and in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Washington, and elsewhere.
