Description
Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of various Dameron (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from England, France, Germany, and Scotland. Some were Huguenot immigrants. Some focus is on (but not limited to) descendants of Lawrence Dameron (1615-1657) of Suffolk County, England. He married Dorothy before 1644. They immigrated to Northumberland County, Virginia before 1652. Their children were Bartholomew, George, Thomas, Lawrence, and Dorothy. Some Damerons joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and migrated with the Latter-day Saint pioneers to Utah in the mid-1800s. Later descendants also lived in Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, and elsewhere. Records as early as 1776, taken from the Indian Archives Branch of the Oklahoma Historical Society show that some Damerons had African American bloodlines, and some had Cherokee and Chickasaw bloodlines.
