"The following names appear in the pages as shown in the multi-volume The Comprehensive Donnock Dennis Genealogy. ...I am descended from Donnock Dennis via my mother, Ida Velma Dennis and my great-great-grandfather, John Dennis, born 5 March 1804, in Guilford County, North Carolina. John Dennis was the great-great-great-grandson of Donnock Dennis, of Somerset County, Maryland. John Dennis married Amelia Clayton then Mrs. Delilah Thomas, nee McChesney. John moved from Guilford County, North Carolina and migrated to McNairy County, Tennessee, Rusk County Texas, Kaufman County, Texas, and Cooke County, Texas where he died in 1881."--Page 2.
