"New series" number designations begin again with no. 1 (Jan 1948), with the same whole number given each quarterly issue within each year. Some later issues give the "New Series no." followed by hyphen and numbers 1-4, indicating the quarter (some do not, but this library adds them in the catalog for tracking).
Numbering Peculiarities
Numbering errors: New series no. 172-3 (July/Sept 2007) was misprinted as no. 172 (Apr/June 2007).
Description
Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Shambaugh (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from Denmark, Germany, and Prussia. Some related families came from France. Some Shambaughs settled in Pennsylvania and Virginia in the 1700s. Among the immigrant ancestors featured are: Adolph Schambach who came to America in 1729; and Georg Schambach (Sr.) who came in 1749; and Johann Valentin Schambach. During the 1800s, some Shambaughs moved to Canada, and to Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. Later descendants also lived in Nova Scotia (Canada), India, and in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, Nebraska, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, and elsewhere.
