Description
Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Bliss (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from Blay, a village in the Calvados region of Normandy, France. In the 1600's-1700's, some immigrated to Canada, England, and the United Kingdom. Others settled in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Virginia. During the 1800's and later, some moved to Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, and Quebec (Canada), Australia, New Zealand, and elsewhere. The newsletters contain extracts for Bliss individuals and families from various bishops transcripts, electoral rolls, military records, parish registers, tithes and rents, the IGI, and other records.

Issuing Body
The Bliss Family History Society was founded in 1983 at Delapre Abbey, Northampton, England. They elected the Bliss Charity School as their Alma Mater, and a repository for Bliss memorabilia and records. There is also an American chapter, called the Bliss Family in America, also called Bliss Family History Society (U.S.A.).
