Description
Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Willard (Villard, Williard) families who came mainly from England, Italy, and Germany. Focus is on (but not limited to) three children of Benjamin Willard: Simon Willard (1604-1676), George Willard, and Margery Willard who married Dolard Davis. In 1634, they left Horsmonden, Kent County, England, and settled in the Massachusetts Bay Colony, and in nearby New England ares. Simon had a son, Josiah who settled Wethersfield, Connecticut in 1635. There were also three Willard brothers who left Germany and settled in Maryland in 1746. Other Willards also lived in Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Vermont, and Virginia in the 1600-1700's. During the 1800's, some moved to Ontario and Quebec (Canada), and to Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Tennessee, and Wisconsin. Later descendants also lived in Cruz Bay, in Ethiopia, in St. John (Virgin Islands), in Korea, in South Africa, and in Alaska, Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Kentucky Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Nebraska, Nevada, South Carolina, North and South Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, Texas, Utah, Washington, Washington D.C., West Virginia, and elsewhere.

Issuing Body
The Major Simon Willard's Descendants Association was first organized in 1908 at Winchester, New Hampshire. Soon afterwards, the name was changed to The Willard Family Association, to include other family lines. In 1958, the name was changed again to The Willard Family Association of America, Inc., to includes its branches throughout the United States and Canada.
