Description
James Gormley (1825-1878) emigrated from Ireland to Virginia, Cass County, Illinois, married widow Maria (Patterson) Noble (also an Irish immigrant) in 1858, and moved to Stromsburg, Nebraska. Their son, James Samuel Gormley (1867-1937), married Evelyn Bennett in 1890 and moved in 1908 to Big Horn County, Wyoming. Many descendants were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Descendants lived in Illinois, North Dakota, Nebraska, Wyoming, Utah, Oregon, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, California and elsewhere.
