Description
Jan Keppel and his wife Areaantje Pellicon Keppel emigrated from Holland to America in 1847 having been preceded by their son Teunis who had emigrated in 1846. They settled first in Keokuk, Iowa then in 1847 relocated to Holland, Michigan. A year later they returned to Keokuk where they lived until Areaantje died 17 June 1872 and Jan on 8 March 1874. "Both are buried in Oakland Cemetery, Keokuk."--P. 1. Descendants lived in Michigan, Iowa, Wisconsin, Missouri, Wyoming, California, Idaho, Oregon, Illinois, Alabama and elsewhere.
