He married Annie Christina Mortensen (1802-1889) who was born in Hansted, Skanderborg, Denmark. She was the only daughter of Morten Anderson Skowgaard. They were baptized into the L.D.S. Annie died in Richfield, Utah on 14 February 1889 where she had gone to live in her later years with one of her daughters. She is buried in the Richfield Cemetery.
