Although the original stencils have been used they have been completely repaginated, and a surname index has been added. Periodical serving as a clearinghouse for genealogical data on various families from the Southern United States, primarily Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, and the Ozark region. Includes information about their ancestors who came from Austria, Bavaria, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Holland, Ireland, Normandy, Prussia, Scotland, Sweden, Switzerland, and Wales. Some immigrated to Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Virginia in the 1600s. In the 1700s, some settled Georgia, Kentucky, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Vermont, and West Virginia. During the 1800s, some moved to New Brunswick (Canada), and to Alabama, Arkansas, California, Illinois, Indiana, the Indian Territory, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, and Wisconsin. Later descendants also lived in Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Kansas, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington, Washington D.C., and elsewhere. Information is abstracts, extracts, and transcriptions of Bible records, biographies, birth records, cemetery and tombstone inscriptions, census, county histories, court records and minutes, DAR and SAR collections, death records, deeds, funeral home records, indexes, land records, marriage records, newspapers and newsletters, parish records, pensions, probates, queries, shared pedigrees, tax records, wills, and other record sources. Years covered are ca. 1500-1982. Some have African American, and American Indian bloodlines. Some were orphans.
