Description
George Balser Hess (1747-1806) was a son of Casper and Maria Eva Hess, and after his father's early death, became an apprentice to Michael Leatherman. He moved from York County, Pennsylvania to join a sister in Maryland, and served in the Revolutionary War. He married Mary Eve Hensel in 1782, and settled in Bedford, Pennsylvania, moving in 1798 to Hopetown, Ohio. Descendants and relatives lived in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri and elsewhere.
