Description
Richard Jex was born in 1765 presumably in England. He married Sarah Harris on 17 September 1790 in Woodbastwick, Norfolk Co., England and died 15 January 1830 at Woodbastwick. "All the Richard and Sarah (Harris) Jex children wore born in Woodbastwick; namely Richard ... Thomas, William ... and John. The descendants of this family came to Utah, U.S.A. [in 1854] after joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This book contains a genealogical history of their families. They were called the Spanish Fork Jex family for that is where William and Eliza (Goodson) Jex, the first emigrants, made their permanent home. ... All the Jexes we have found have their geographical origin in the county of Norfolk, England, in parishes and towns just a few miles away from Woodbastwick, the home of our Richard Jex. The history of these "relatives" is included in the back of this book.--P. 4. Descendants and relatives lived in England, Utah, Nevada, California, Idaho, Washington, Texas, New York and elsewhere.
