Description
James Hereford was living in Westmoreland County, Virginia, by 1689. Record traces line of descendant to Theodorick Matthew Hereford of the fifth generation. He was born in Loudon County, Virginia, in 1792, son of Thomas Ammon and Margaret Matthews Hereford. He married Eliza Walker Sale (1796-1835) in 1818. They had nine children, 1819-1835. The family migrated to Alabama ca. 1823. He married 2) Lucy Q. Powell in Madison County, Alabama, in 1836. He died in 1870. Descendants listed lived in Alabama and elsewhere.
