Description
"Michael Horine, b. 175_ d. 1810, son of Frederick Horine I. (1) (b. 1715 d. 17__) was born in one of the German provinces bordering on the River Rhine. He with his two brothers, Jacob and George and two sisters came to America in the early 1770's. They are said to have landed in Baltimore and were supposed to have lived there for a time in Maryland (probably in Frederick County, where an earlier family of Horines had settled about 25 years before). Later it is probable that Michael lived in Pennsylvania for a time previous to his removal to Kentucky in 1780."--P. [1]. He purchased land in Jefferson and Fayette counties. In 1801 or 1802 the family moved to Missouri and purchased land Jefferson and Washington Counties. "Michael Horine was married in Maryland or Pennsylvania to Suzanna Chapel (b. 176_ d. 182_). He was killed in 1810 while on a hunting trip near Petosi, Washington, Missouri. Descendants lived in Missouri, Kentucky, Arkansas, Iowa, Michigan, Colorado, California and elsewhere.
